HOW TO ROCK THE BLUES
Vertus was created in April 2007 in Chicago. Band consists of 4 musicians: Gabriel Chorabik (15) - drums; Peter Mielcarek (14) - guitar, vocal; Patrick Rotunno (16) - bass; Patrick Wasewicz (15) - guitar, vocal, harmonica. They play root rock & heavy blues. Despite their young age they successfully take on challenging covers by rock greats: Led Zeppelin, Cream, Blind Faith. In their own marterial you can also hear strong influences of such vast variety of performers, as Dire Straits, Eric Burdon, Allman Brothers Band.
Powerfull riffs combined with smooth and sometimes “groovy” guitar solos plus solid drum & bass background wall of sound earned them the name of youg guns of rock&blues. They show, rare for musicians their age, maturity and knowledge of 70., 80., and 90’s music.
In 2006 “Vertus” was featured on Chicago TV Channel 34 (“Chicago Nights”) as “the hottest young rock&blues band” in town. In March 2007 they were presented on national satellite “Polsat” TV in the U.S. The second segment is scheduled for May. They gain popularity on local scene, playing in such clubs as “DK Cafe” or “Capitol”. As young apprentices, they can also be heard jamming there with much more renown blues musicians, such as Andre Taylor, Derryl Right or Tommy Hollywood.
Vertus is scheduled to appear “full time” at “Taste of Polonia” festival in Chicago (August 31st), as a independently performing band. Watch for these young guns! They surely know how to rock the blues...
